MORE ABOUT KELLY..

Career – nearly two decades of professional experience in experiential learning and career development at the secondary and post-secondary education level.  Kelly is also an invited peer reviewer and panel moderator for the US Department of Education’s Office of Innovation and Improvement.  In addition to lecturing at Northeastern University, he currently services as a career development officer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
 

Academics – BS in Aviation and Management at Bridgewater State College; MS in Executive Leadership and current doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership at Northeastern University.
 

Research – social scientist specializing in the phenomenon of lived experience, primarily African American students in K-12 educational settings; youth violence; workforce and career development among disadvantaged populations.  


Orator - public speaker, with presentations shared at the local, national and international level.
 

Civically – organizational leadership roles across nonprofit platforms include:
Trustee, Board of Trustees, Bunker Hill Community College (appointed by Gov. Charlie Baker, R-MA)
Director, Board of Directors, The Italian Home for Children, a Boston-based nonprofit organization providing crisis intervention, counseling and temporary shelter relief for emotionally, physically and mentally abused children; 
Officer, Concerned Black Men of Massachusetts, Inc., a nonprofit organization serving young males of color, some proven-risk, ranging from adolescents to young adults, and
Contributor to United Nations Association of America.
 

Militarily – veteran, US Air Force, with service assignments in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and other international tours of duty in Europe and The Far East.
